From Besieged Jerusalem to Besieged Negev - cv sent to kibbutz Nir Am, in the Besieged Negev, through P.O.Box 2040 Tel Aviv, franked 10 mils Jerusalem 1st issue “Blue on white paper” and cancelled by Minhelet Ha’am postmark 10th of May. The cv was detained in Jerusalem till the first or second convoy, brought to TLV & Flown to the Negev receiving an Army postmark 12 July 48 of “Misrad 10” of Ruhama. From the 10th of June the Negev was totally cut off, no convoys could pass through until the 31st of July 48. On back Army postmarks of “Base Alef” and “Returned Letter Office” & Return to the Sender 1st Aug 1948; roughly opened at left, fine & Rare
