Very Fine clear strike of the "Jerusalem Cross" in Blue (Steichele 325), forwarded to the French Post Office in Jaffa, light pearl ring postmark JAFFA/SYRIE 22 NOV 61 (St. 302) all on front. On back transit postmark of ALEXANDRIE /EGYPTE - NOV 61, MARSEILLE A LYON 4 DEC 61, LYON A PARIS 5 DEC 61 and arrival LONDON DE 7 61 postmarks. Charged 9 (pence) in manuscript, the French Levant rate to England as of 1.1.1857.
