94th Holyland Postal Bid Sale

Turkish pc pmkd Istanbul 15.1.1942, addressed to Dr. Ebner in Tel Aviv. The typed message in German: "I shall meet Sobel soon and hope to get information in regard to Frankel & Menczer ... will inform ASAP..." Aron Menczer was the director of the Youth Aliyah in Vienna and an educator. He was sent to Forced Labor Camp by LINZ (5/1941), returned to Vienna and transferred to Theresienstadt Ghetto (9/1942). He was sent to his death in Birkenau (10/1943). Without return address, but from G. BLUM of P.O.B. 207 Istanbul as per the following lot. With Palestine censor mark on front. F & very scarce
