1855-63: Two envelopes, 1) 1d deep rose-red, mostly full to large margins except at lower left where just shaved, cancelled by slightly unclear small triangular obliterator, 1864 (17 May) Penny Post envelope from Clarem backstamped with double oval CLAREMONT MY 17 1864 town datestamp and similar red same date Cape Town datestamp, with small stain on front, 2) 4d blue, good to large margins, indistinctly cancelled on smaller 1864 (26 Oct.) envelope incoming to Claremont from outside the Penny Post area (hence 4d), backstamped with double oval CLAREMONT OC 26 1864 town datestamp. A scarce pair of covers., ex Dillaway.
