1873 (Oct 30): Lettersheet from Bari to Riga, Latvia under Russian rule, bearing 1866 Torino printing 30 c.  brown and 40 c. red-carmine, two fine and fresh adhesives, tied by light '73' numeral obliterator and "P.D." handstamp, both in black, BARI despatch cds in black alongside. The front shows also the '3' silbergroschen forwarded postage from Prussia to Russia. Reverse with Verona, and Venzia transit (Oct. 31, gregorian) as well as Vilna transit and Riga arrival cds's (Oct 25, julian). Light file folds, a rare destination from Apulia.
