1854 (Aug 1): Swan 4 d. blue, a used example with diagonal pre-printing paper-fold, leaving 2 mm. gap between GE of POSTAGE and PE of PENCE at base, good margins all round and of fine appearance, cancelled by '8' numeral obliterator of Freemantle. Scarce and appealing variety. Opinion Holcombe (1988).
