1840: 1 d. black, Plate 1a, lettered HB, a fine example with large even margins all round (and showing the re-entries at top and at base), used on 1840 entire letter mailed from Oxford Street to the Strand, London tied by red Maltese Cross. Octagonal framed "MY 7 / 1840" datestamp displaying well on reverse: the second Official Day of Issue. Illustrated on page 64 in Jackson's "May Dates".
