1840 (May 6): Entire letter written from Dublin on the Official First Day of Issue of the 1 d. black, sent unpaid to Londonderry with fine handstruck "2" of Dublin in black. Reverse with Dublin despatch (May 6) and double arc "Derry" arrival cds (May 7) in black. An exceptional and extremely scarce entire: more especially so used in Ireland.
