1890/91: Southern Cross 1000 r. bistre, a single example used on 300 r. black postal stationery envelope sent registered / AR to Colchester, England tied by MACEIO / ALAGOAS cds (March 12, 1895) in black. Framed 'A.R.' at left and registration cachet, reverse with Colchester arrival cds (April 9). Slightly buckled at left but an extremely rare stamp on letter.
