1878: Morazan 1 c. pale violet (6 examples), 2 c. deep brown (10 examples, one is sheet imprint marginal) and single 1 r. deep green, all used on spectacular 1884 double rate registered AR cover (1 c. overpaid) to R.R. Bogert in New York and tied by negative 'star in circle' handstamps struck in blue, and by oval "REPUBLIQUE DE HONDURAS / BUREAU POSTAL D'ÉXCHANGE / TEGUCIGALPA" datestamps (Aug 20) in violet when 1 c. and two 2 c. were added to make up the rate; registration cachet "REPUBLICA DE HONDURAS / R" in violet at left.
