Incoming from Great Britain via Italy 1869 (Aug 31): Unpaid entire letter from London to Patras, endorsed "Via Brindisi & Corfu", struck by LONDON despatch datestamp, charged upon arrival with '90' lepta in blue crayon, bearing Consecutive Athens printing 10 l. red-orange on blue and 80 l. dull carmine, fresh with overall good margins, cancelled by PATRAI arrival cds (Aug 27), reverse with BRINDISI and KERKYRA transit cds's. File fold below the franking, an interesting cover with the '20' centesimi debit to Italy noted on front, the route via the Mont-Cenis and Brindisi is the less common of the different postal routes between Greece and Great Britain. Hellas 18e+22d.
