Corinphila Auction 291-297 Day 3

1862: Empire 40 c. orange and 80 c. carmine in a horizontal pair, used on 1866 entire letter endorsed "par Packet via Southampton & Panama" to Valparaiso, Chile tied by Le Havre "1769" gros chiffres in black. Le Havre despatch at right (Oct. 31) and framed "P.P." in red. Single ring "PANAMA" cds in black of transit (Nov. 22) and charged with "45" centavos due handstamp in red upon delivery. File fold and minor imperfections but scarce.
