First Watermark 1913: Kangaroo 1 d. pale yellow-green, printed in the colour of the ½ d., Die II, a Plate Proof pair on unwatermarked gummed wove paper, line perf. 12½, printed by J. B. Cooke with somewhat thick brownish gum and hinge to prevent splitting, trivial thin on left hand stamp and one tone spot on top perf. largely affecting the reverse only; otherwise fresh and fine - note that this Proof is from a later stage with the 'Rabbit's Ears' tuft of grass to the left of the Roo now removed. Rare, just nine examples exist, two of which are housed in the collection of His Majesty King Charles III. Cert.
