Lithographed by Hillman 1857/59: Swan 6 d. black-bronze, wmk. Swan sideways, imperforate, a used example with clear to large margins all round and showing portion of adjoining stamp at base, on 1859 second sheet of entire letter from Australind to Malta endorsed "By Steamer to Mauritius & Malta by Suez" in manuscript, neatly cancelled by mute obliterator in black. Oval framed "POST OFFICE / ♛ / AUSTRALIND / WESTERN AUSTRALIA" in black with manuscript "10/5" despatch date at lower left. Carried on the P&O Steamer "Columbian" from Sydney on 14 May, calling at St. George's Sound on 6 June and thence via Mauritius and Suez with Malta arrival cds on reverse.
