Corinphila Auction 291-297 Day 2

Sideface 1882: 1 d. deep vermilion-red and 2 d. blue in two horizontal pairs, used on 1884 advertising cover to San Francisco, USA tied by "QL" obliterators with Brisbane despatch cds alongside (Sept 25). Circular "PAID / ALL" in black and "San Francisco Paid All" arrival in red (Nov 2). Listed in the Ben Palmer census on page 282. Top flap mostly missing on reverse but a charming usage - and a very early advertising envelope for "Custom House & Forwarding Agent" of Brisbane and the Eclipse Colliery of Ipswich.rn
