1857/59: 1 d. blue, 2 d. yellowish green with just touched to large margins and a magnificent 6 d. purple-brown, used on 1860 cover to Fécamp, France endorsed "voie de Suez", all tied by barred obliterators in black. Reverse with GALLE / STEAMER LETTER despatch in red (Sept 17), and obverse with circular "POSS. ANG. V. SUEZ / MARSEILLE" entry marking in red (Oct 14) and taxed weith '9' décime charge marking in black. An unusual cover, apparently franked for full 9 d. pre-payment to England, the rate to France at this date was a 1 d. less. An attractive three colour franking. Certs. A.
