Incoming Mail 1882: Queensland 1 d. pale vermilion (6 examples) used on 1886 cover from Brandon to Mauritius, all tid by '194' numeral obliterators in black with "Brandon" despatch cds below (Dec 8). Carried on the French steamer "Yarra" with circular "LIGNE T / PAQ. FR. No. 1" datestamp in black (Jan 1). Reverse with Townsville and Brisbane (Dec 20) transits and Port Louis arrival cds (Jan 17, 1887). Slight horizontal bend crosses the adhesives but this is the second earliest of just four pre-UPU covers from Queenland recorded in the Ben Palmer census (page 269).
