1860/63: 4 d. rose used on 1862 cover to St. Denis, Réunion endorsed per private ship "Ottawa" tied by "Mauritius / B53" duplex (Aug 20) in black. Cover disinfected with diagonal slits away from the adhesive due to a Cholera outbreak in Mauritius and, displaying well on reverse framed "M & I" and "St. Denis / Ile de la Reunion" arrival cds (Aug 22) in blue. Manuscript '40' for amount due upon receipt in red crayon. Some staining on folds but a scarce cover.rnNote: The framed "M & I" (Mauritius & India) handstamp was applied to identify mail from Mauritius and India on which the ship's Captain was due a 10 c. remuneration, to be recovered from the recipient.
