Corinphila Auction 284-290 Day 5

1867 (Sept): 40 c. yellow, a good margined adhesive in combination with 1868 (March) 10 c. orange-vermillion, well perforated on three sides, imperf. on top, both adhesives with vibrant colour, cancelled by one central strike of grill obliterator, "CIVITAVECCHIA 25 APR. 68" despatch cds and framed PD, both in black and French "É-PONT. 27 AVRIL 68 MARSEILLE" entry cds in red alongside, on cover directed to Tournon, France. Reverse with Lyon transit (April 28) and arrival (April 28) cds's. A very attractive combination to pay the 50 centesimi rate to France, in addition an early usage of the perforated adhesives.
