1892 25c black on grayish wove paper, Playing Card revenue essay, full-size band (301x32mm), with toned original gum, folds reinforced and professionally reattached at sides, scattered toned spots, full original gum, fine and scarce. Prepared and approved as a proof for a stamp to carry out the new Tax on Playing Cards that was approved by Queen Liliuokalani in 1892, but later repealed by President Dole before that stamp was ever printed, ex-Honolulu Advertiser (Sold in 1995, $950 hammer)
