SIEGE DE PARIS 1870, letter sent from Paris to Tours October 21, 1870 with manuscript instruction "par Ballon monté" franked with "Empire Laureated" 20 c., the letter was consigned to the Company of Aeronauts, by-passing the post ("plis confié"), red postmark "REPULIQUE-FRANCAISE / 1 Aerostiers / Nadar-Dartois-Durouf" and placed on the Ballon Monté "VICTOR HUGO" which departed from Jardin de Tuileries on October 18 at 11:45 am and landed at 5:30 pm near Coeuvres, upon arrival in Tours the stamp was cancelled, Baudot certificate
