1932 'Trans-Atlantic DO-X' stamp $1.50 on $1 used on airmail envelope from John A Butt, Carbonear, Nfld. to Knaphill, England 'VIA DO-X Nfld. to Paris or Germany', cancelled by St. John's '20 May 1932' machine d/s, and on the reverse with British "Found open or damaged and officially secured" label cancelled Knaphill '26 May' cds, St. John's '6 July' and Carbonear '7 July' datestamps. Envelope with a central vert. fold otherwise fine. An unusual DO-X cover.
