1870: Printed Red Cross 'Comité Auxiliaire de Nantes' postcard used by a Prisioner of War (with detailed status) to Basel, franked Napoleon 1867 30c. brown tied by "NANTES/3/NOV/70" c.d.s., with two strikes of circled Red Cross cachet "SOCIETÉ DE SECOURS AUX BLESSÉS MILITAIRES DE NANTES" alongside, French transit date and Basel '7.XI.70' arrival c.d.s. on the reverse. Postcard with a short tear/notch at top and short corner crease at lower left otherwise fine. A VERY RARE POSTCARD FROM THE PRUSSIAN-FRENCH WAR.
