1858. Envelope addressed to 'Captain Arthur Cochrane of the S.S. "Niger", Singapore' bearing Great Britain SG 69, 6d lilac (defective) tied by London duplex 'Jy 3 58', on arrival in Singapore the 6d lilac has been cancelled by Singapore 172 numeral and forwarded back to London with London/Paid 'Oct 4 58' in red on face with undated Wellington Island on reverse. Very rare use of Great Britain stamp cancelled in Singapore.
