1867 (June 12): Double rate Entire letter from Lattakia to Beyrouth, bearing two fine and fresh single adhesives of 1866 ROPiT 2 pia. blue & rose with vibrant colour and good to huge margins, tied upon departure with "RUS. OBSHCH. PAR. I TOR / LATAKIISK. AGENSTVO" handstamp with coat of arms of the ROPiT in centre, (Tchilinghirian fig. 805) and upon arrival by numeral '783' of Beyrouth, both in blue. Information strike "PORT LATAKIE 12 JUNE 1867" in blue alongside (Tchilinghirian fig. 207). Filing folds away from the stamps and postmarks, an exceptional double rate entire with this rare Lattakia handstamp which was not known in the literature until the Tchilinghirian supplement.
