1870 (Dec. ), Ballon Monté: small folded letter with Napoleon 40 C. posted Dec. 11 w. daily press bulletin of AGENCE HAVAS addressed to Rotterdam/Netherlands by ''VILLE DE PARIS'', which took of Dec. 15 at 4:45 AM from Gare du Nord. Drifted off and around 1 PM made emergency landing near Sinn (Dill district, prussian Nassau, Germany). One of only two ballons which mislanded on german territory. The whole mail was confiscated, hence no arrival markings. ÷ 1870 (11. Dez.), Ballon Monté: kleiner Faltbrief mit Napoleon 40 C. ab "Paris 11 DEC 70" mit täglicher Pressemitteilung der AGENCE HAVAS adressiert nach Rotterdam/Niederlande, befördert mit Ballon ''VILLE DE PARIS'', der am 15.12. (4:45 Uhr vom Gare du Nord) aufstieg und ca. 13:00 Uhr bei Sinn/Dillkreis Hessen (Deutschland) notlanden musste. Einer von zwei auf deutschem Gebiet gelandeten Ballons. Die gesamte Post wurde dort von deutschen Truppen beschlagnahmt, weshalb der Brief auch keinen Ankunftsstempel trägt.
