HEJAZ: AR thaler, ND, KM-18, countermarked al-hijaz on the obverse of a "1780" Maria Theresa thaler, VF to EF. Because the countermark closely resembles the official marks of the 1920s and 1930s on nickel Ottoman coins, this example has often been assigned to the same two decades, but it seems far more likely that this is yet another 1960s fantasy issue, albeit one of the initial versions.
