1856 (Dec 3) Envelope from Bander Abbas to Bombay via Muscat with original letter inside the cover, written on the back side of cover “received via Muscat 27 Rabi' al-Thani” (equivalent to December 25 1856). Pre-post office mail sent to, from or transiting Muscat is very rare with only 12 examples recorded so far.
