1924: "POSTA DI CREMONA 2 CENTES" ECKERLIN ESSAYS (probably picturing Dr Eckerlin) printed around 1924 on ungummed paper (one in green and one in red both printed with colours produced by RUCO company of Eppstein im Taunus) as sample in the hope of selling Dr. Eckerlin's rotary press process for intaglio printing (developed by Herbst & Illig in Germany) to various postal administrations. Very fine condition. RARE SAMPLE OF THIS FAMOUS PRINTER and a fascinating Italy cinderella item.
