Lebanon French Offices, envelope sent from Beirut on 28/May/1858 to Genova, Italy. In this period was rightly franked for 80ct (by four stamps of which three of different face value) which is unusual. Despite having indicated the mixed route (French up to Alexandria and Austrian up to Ancona), the envelope was instead transported from the Egyptian port of Alexandria to Marseille by a British steamer and from there via Lyon to Genoa. Lebanon French Offices, envelope sent from Beirut on 31/12/1869, (arrive note written inside), to Lyon. To accelerate the journey, it was entrusted to a forworder who trasported it to Alexandria, where the stamp of 40ct applied was cancelled on 7 January 1870 by the local numeral lozenge 5080 characteristic of this French Post Office in Egypt. The envelope reached its final destination in Lyon on 15/1/1870. SCARCE FORWARDING FROM BEIRUT.

Lebanon French Offices, post card of Tripoli to France, franked for 5ct and posted on 22/7/1904 but he passed by the Beirut french Post Office on 3/9/1904(?) where was also apposed the scarce linear seal "LE RECEVEUR PRINCIPAL DES POSTES FRANCAISES". Reached Roanne on 14/9/05 from where was resend to Vichy. SCARCE OFFICIAL SEAL APPLIED.
