Auction 341 has 3,845 lots, catering for all types of collectors & dealers - from bulk accumulations and intact collections to desirable single items. This auction offers a huge range of material, with special emphasis on lotting stamps to cater for collectors with varying types of interests and budgets. This auction offers strong representation of Australia & Colonies, strong British Empire material of all areas & periods, as well as General Foreign including small and large collections. There are nearly 300 lots of Australian Collections (Lots 96-384) and almost 500 lots of World collections (Lots 385-866).
Following on there is over 1000 lots of Australia which consist of singles, sets and covers including Australian colonies (Lots 910-1941). The Australian lots cover all periods, from the Kangaroo issues up to Decimal and contains numerous number of mint & used £1 & £2 top values - this includes a Small Multi Watermark £2 Black & rose. Superb fresh MUH, pristine never hinged original gum, nice colours & perfect centring. SG 114 cat £4500 for M, should be at least double, £9000++ MUH. ACSC 57 cat $20,000++, plus premium for the fantastic centring. Exceptional quality stamp. 1996 RPSL photo-cert.(Lot 1140). There are almost 1,800 lots of World stamps, covers and single country collections (Lots 1943-3734) with the British Empire well represented, highlighted by a Great Britain 1867-83 QV £5 orange, letters DF, on white paper. F-VF M, redistributed gum. SG Spec J128, SG137 cat £14,500. Very rare in mint condition as only very rich collectors could afford to buy such a high denomination stamp (=5 gold sovereigns!)(Lot 2683). Numerous other European and Asian rarities as well.
