Envelope from La Canea dated 31 May 1896 to San Giovanni Manzano, fr. with a pair of 10c. Italian, canc. with the postmark of the torpedo boat ram Piemonte (1888-1920), the first unit of the Navy to reach the island. On the back, a beautiful cartouche with the ships golden eagle, a clear departure postmark repeated and arrival postmark dated 8 June 1896.
