Bond Coupon for a $50 4% Consol Bond of 1907, SN# 42828 Coupon Date Jan. 1, 1894, Hessler X166I. The 30 year bond “Consol” for this coupon was issued in 1878, and the interest was payable quarterly. The portrait is of William H. Seward. It is thought that coupons such as this one circulated as fractional currency just prior to the turn of the century. XF-AU condition with a minor mounting vertical stain on the right reverse.
