Jordanian postal boycott of Israel: 14 SEP 1962 a/m cv ex PADDINGTON (UK) to KIBBUTZ MASADA "Jordan Valley, Israel", franked 6d & tied local machine slogan cancel; mis-routed via JORDAN (probably confused by address) where b/s [unclear] SEP 62 AMMAN transit, where forwarded to E. J'LEM where error noticed & cv marked "PAS DE COMMUNICATION" using J'lem PO K-Type-III IM h/s & returned to sender; cv resent, now enclosed w/Isr. K-Type-M3 mimeograph m/s dated 5-11-62, stating "this postal item was erroniously routed via one of the Arab states, returned to country of origin and arrived only now to this service". Rare: only known example of IM Type-M3 mimeo.; less than 20 cv's known stamped w/Jordanian Type-III IM h/s - unique combination on cv.
