Wartime incoming Jewish civilian mail / internee mail: undated (c. 1942) stampless a/m stationary cv ex "campo di concentramento" [internment camp] FERRAMONTI TI TARSIA to SHA'AR HA'AMAKIM via HAIFA, sent as free POW mail & marked "message in Croatian"; tied by red camp cachet & scarce 2 line "civilian internee mail via SOFIA-ISTANBUL" cachet on front (route per 1942 agreement w/It. govt); censored & sealed in Rome by It. milit. & by 71/7633 Pal. censor in Haifa (Sach-10, in use to May '42) - who placed Sacher-unlisted Imperial Censorship Palestine PC39 form w/mimeograph: "No reply may be sent from Palestine to enemy..." + msg on back "Prisoner of War mail to civil internees in Italy is only permitted if they are British or Palestinian Subjects". Probably sent by air MILAN-Sofia as with reg. POW mail. Torn open at back, complete; very fine & rare.
