EEF British WWI military mail in Egypt: cutout of 22 MR 1916 strike of Proud/FB undocumented FPO 1Y (1 South Midland Mtd Bgd at MENA CAMP, Cairo) pmk, with thick bars & "I.Y" letters; also with date before month - this too unlisted (ref. Proud-D2 & later dated D3), tied next to strike of KC-CM6 type censor used only by BEF on continental Europe - as visible address is civilian, cutout probably from mail to UK routed via BEF. Here dated 2 days after est. of Egyptian Expeditionary Force (of which this unit was part).
