The carrier stamp with manuscript number initials, used with two 3c Red singles, addressed to Canajoharie, Montgomery County, New York. One 3c is tied by a "Washington D.C. Oct 26, 1857" circular datestamp, the other with a manuscript cancel. Docketed "Answered Nov 3d" at left.
Double-weight usages of the Eagle Carrier are a rarity, with only one other example recorded.
