lot # 50089LA - Numismatics > Merchant & Business tokens
Britain: lot of 8 denominated tokens from J. Salmon & Son Ltd. business of London (presumably a Jewish merchant); the tokens are in Shillings and Pence including 2 versions of the 6 Pence token. The firm was in the crockery business and appears to have had its 'heyday' in the 1920's and 1930's; it entered financial problems in the late 30's, entered the process of liquidation in 1941, was bought by Timothy Whites & Taylors Ltd. in January 1944, and finally closed in October 1944.
