Transjordan Frontier Force mid-sized metal hat badge, circa. 1930's-40's; maker-marked "W Dowler & Sons" [Birmingham]; size: 21.5 x 33mm; weight: 3.8g. With 2-prong reverse. Formed 1926 by the Mandate as territorial battalion of British Army, w/800 soldiers reaching up to 3000; included variously 19 to 150 Jews (1942 peak). Replaced the mounted police & Palestine Gendermerie.
