World War II/field post: interesting supply with numerous rarities, including Montenegro Mi.-Nr. 19 mnh, one of the most sought-after issues of the WWII German Occupation, which and consists of only 1,000 pieces, also propaganda forgeries and Feldpost Mi.-Nr. 5b in a vertical, unused strip of three. Pleskau with an extremely rare Mi.-Nr. 2b in canceled condition with current photo certification Zirath BPP.

A very diverse supply of collections encompassing more than 1,800 lots, primarily from private collectors, including - among others - complete estate collections, our traditional section “collection dissolution” contains five large estate collections; also specialised country collections, grab-bag item boxes and covers with material from all over the world!
Coins: extensive supply with 2,500 lots and a total auction value of ca. € 750,000, featuring the following highlights:
“Colonia” collection: around 100 denars from the Roman Republic, mostly in better condition. Furthermore, the actual heart of this collection: Cologne archdiocese and the city of Cologne. The outstanding pieces here include - among others - a half thaler with the title Rudolf II. (Noss 261, price 1,000) and a ducat with the title Franz I., 1750, Noss635c, in well-preserved condition (Price 1,000). Another interesting piece is a thaler that was minted for sede vacante in 1761 (Noss 772, Price 1,000).
Antiquity: Special mention should be made here regarding two extremely rare EL half stater from Ionia, priced at € 12,000 each. In addition to various rare and well-preserved tetra drachmas from - among other places - Attica, numerous solidi of different Byzantine regents are available.
German empire/Weimar: The focus here should especially be on the very rare pieces on hand, such as a 5-mark Waldeck Pyrmont (J. 171, vz from PP, Price 3,200), a rare 5-Reichsmark piece Eichbaum 1933 J (vz-st., Price 3,600), as well as two Goethe 5-Reichsmark pieces with the embossed letters “A” and “E” (Prices 1,200 and 1,500).
Russia: Large supply of silver, gold, platinum and palladiuim mintings. Rare and sought-after series, e.g. the Brown Bear series from 1993, the 1995 Lynx series and the 1996 Tiger series are available here in gold and in all denominations (Price €2,500; 1,800; and 2,500). In addition to the highlights, nearly all 25 (5 oz.) ruble coins in silver are also on hand.
Medallions: Medallion enthusiasts will also be very pleased with the supply available this time. Ancient Greece: numerous Kilkian coinages as well as a beautiful series of Attic tetradrachmas in superb and freshly minted condition are waiting for passionate collectors to snap them up (Lots 61 – 79). Especially noteworthy: many good Obole and Statere from Tarsus in very good condition, including, for example, a stater of Mazaios (361 – 334) Baaltars on the throne/lion killing deer (SNG France 313, vz, Lot 152, estimate 900 €)
Ancient Roman Imperial Period: the Imperium Romanum is represented by a beautiful selection of aurei of Vespasianus, Titus and Nero, among others. Especially noteworthy: among others, an aureus under Vespasianus for Titus (Lot 273, estimate 1,900 €)
Byzantium: A comprehensive supply of hexagrams and solidi of different rulers can be found here. A beautiful Constantin V. Copronymus solidus merits special mention (Lot 431, estimate 1,600 €)

Europa/Overseas: A highlight: the broad and bountiful range of 1 dollar coins (Morgan dollar) available at this auction. As the Stiftung für Philatelie und Postgeschichte e. V. has canceled its sponsorship of the Philatelistische Bibliothek Hamburg e. V., the library is suffering a financial loss in the amount of 27,000 euros, which are needed to cover its annual budget. The auction of lots numbered 7493-7570 will benefit the preservation of the Philatelistische Bibliothek Hamburg e. V.
The entire proceeds (incl. commissions) will be donated to the Philatelistische Bibliothek Hamburg e. V., a non-profit organisation. Any consigners who would like to participate in further auctions like this have the opportunity to do so with a consignment to the 143rd auction. The deadline for consignments is 1st April 2015.
