Early Israeli postal links: 7-12 [unclear] a/m cv ex TRIPOLITANIA to TLV, franked 30L using 3x BMA Tripolitania 10 MAL ovpt'd 5d stamps (Sa-7) & tied by 2 strikes of local date-bridge pmk, cv marked "A.V.2" (M-type-14) using local IM h/s - used on 'top of pile' cv of small batch of a/m, grouped together w/other batches to diff. destinations in mail bag, which then opened at var. mail exchanges offices for further routing. As franks in use bet. 7/1948 - 1/1950, this est. postmark time; locale kept postal relations w/Isr. 31-08-48 to May 1954. Cut open at top, sm. piece missing from back-flap (part of r/a visible), periph. tear top-right. Rare origin; large Jewish population (c.40k) of which 31k emigrated to Israel bet. 1948-51.
