Stamps of Transvaal (South African Republic) used in Swaziland. 2d. olive-bistre of Transvaal (2x) on cover with squared-circle Bremersdorp/Z.A.R./17 MEI 95 via Cape Town to Thayngen Switzerland. on reverse cds Johannesburg (21.5) and arrival cds Thayngen (17.6). The envelope is franked at the UPU rate of 4d. per ½ oz, mail via Natal was slower and cheaper (4d. instead of 5d.) This being the earliest recorded date of the Bremersdorp Z.A.R. squared-circle datestamp (Van der Molen p. 149). Provenance: Talbot Cox
