1894, Pyongyang (Korea) and Kuliencheng (China), scene of the 1st Sino-Japanese war: two colour woodcuts, size vertical oban triptych: Our Army's Great Victory at Pyongyang", printed and published Meiji 27 (1894) by Morita Hikojiro, Kyobashi district (Tokyo). Each part 25x37.5 cm. - The battle of Pyongyang took place 15 September 1894.
And "Japanese forces conquer Kiuliencheng", by Yōsai Nobushige (known active 1894-97). -Portraying a fictional battle for the fortress Kiuliencheng in Manchuria, which in fact was entered without opposition by the Japanese 1st army by 26 October 1894. The Chinese had retreated the night before after having been attacked nearby 24/25 October.
