The total amount due is payable in Swiss Francs (CHF). Foreign currencies will be accepted to the extent of the amounts credited by a principal Swiss bank; any costs arising from exchange rate differences will be borne by the bidder. VAT is not payable by Buyers from abroad possessing a legal direct export declaration or if exported by Swisspost, FedEx or another official carrier. If Buyers from abroad wish to export the lots themselves, VAT will be debited and refunded upon presentation of the legal export declaration.

Egypt 1856 (March 21): Prepaid Envelope from Alexandria to Cork, Ireland, endorsed "via Marseilles", crowned "PAID AT ALEXANDRIA" in red on front, double arc "ALEXANDRIA MR 21 1856" despatch datestamp in blue and London transit (April 2) cds on red alongside. Reverse with CORK arrival (April 3) cds in blue. Paid with '2/-' sh. upon despatch, noted in red crayon on front. Some toning, nevertheless a fine cover.

1880/83: Great Britain ½ d. slate, 2 d. rose and three 2½ d. lilac, all used on registered 1884 cover to Mauritius paying the 10 d. rate for under 1 ounce and 2 d. registration, tied by "C" obliterators in black with "British Post Office / Constantinople" cds in red below (Aug 16). Mailed via London (Aug 20) with "Registered / Mauritius" arrival also on obverse (Sept 23). Peripheral toning but a rare rate and destination.

British Post Office 1855/57: Great Britain 6 d. lilac, a fine used example on 1858 cover to Scotland tied by "A03" obliterator in black. Reverse with double DEMERARA cds of despatch (Aug. 28), London transit in red (Sept. 17), Greenock and Campbelltown datestamps of receipt (Sept. 18). Some peripheral edge wear but a generally fine and scarce cover.

Taxed on arrival with handstruck '15' décime handstamp in black. Fault to front panel but opens well for display.
