Rare postmark of Jerusalem: OCTAG 4 PM24

An envelope that a tourist sent from Beit Lechem to the USA by the Ottoman postal service on 9.4.1913. The envelope was sent via Jerusalem, where it was postmarked on 10.3.1913 – a month before it was actually sent. The reason is of course an error in the postmark of Beit Lechem – which was supposed to be 9.3.1913 and not 9.4.1913.

חותמת ירושלים נדירה: OCTAG 4 PM24

מעטפה ששלח תייר מבית לחם לארצות הברית בדואר התורכי שם בתאריך 9.4.1913 והמעטפה עברה דרך ירושלים ושם הוחתמה בתאריך 10.3.1913... חודש לפני שנשלחה. הסיבה לפליאה היא כמובן שגיאה שנפלה בחותמת של בית לחם שבמקום החודש השלישי נרשם שם בטעות הרביעי.
