France: 1939-45 French Foreign Legion, 3rd Infantry Regt ('3eREI') trumpet banner. An AIF veteran bring back from Syria. Red wool cloth with green triangular shape to centre. Wording: 'LEGIO PATRIA NOSTRA' over 3x legion grenades with '3' in circlet, all embroidered. Double sided. Edges bound with embroidered tape with lozenge pattern & with silk fringe edging. 2x eyelets at top for securing to bugle/trumpet. 300mm x 200mm. Minor stains & fringe wear. VGC. Battle Honours for 3rd REI 1939-45: 'DJEBEL MANSOUR 1943', 'ALSACE 1944-45'. Rare.
