Special, Ancient Amulet for Protecting the Baby, with a Special Prayer – Europe, the 18th Century
A special, rare and impressive item.

Obverse side of the amulet: In the center, the Hebrew letter "ה" and in it a blooming bush. Around it, a Hebrew inscription: "May this child grow up to Torah, Chuppah and good deeds".

Reverse side of the amulet: a pair of fish and under them the Hebrew inscription: "May it be the will of God, our God and the God of our fathers, that you save this baby of your nation Israel so that they will not be sick with diphtheria and raise them to your Torah and protect them by your merci Amen".

Diameter: 3.8cm.

Age of item: approximately 300 years.

Condition: Good compared to other amulets of this type. There is a hole in the upper part of the amulet. Wrinkles in the margins. A few letters are worn on the reverse side of the amulet.

פנים הקמיע: במרכז האות ה' ובתוכה שיח פורח, מסביב: "זה הילד יגדל לתורה. לחופה ולמע"ט [מעשים טובים]".

גב הקמיע: זוג דגים ומתחתם כיתוב: "י'ר'מ' ה'א'ו'א' [יהי רצון מלפניך ה' אלהינו ואלהי אבותינו] שתציל תנוקת של עמך ישראל שלא תפול אסכרה בפיהם ותגדלם לתורתך ותגן עליהם ברחמיך אמן".

קוטר: 3.8 ס"מ.

מצב טוב מאוד יחסית לקמיעות קדומים מסוג זה. ישנו נקב בראש הקמיע. פגמים בשוליים. מעט אותיות שחוקות בגב
