TURKEY: 50 Kurus (Law 1930) in dark brown on lilac with portrait of president Inonu at right. S/N: "B6 412361". These banknotes were on a ship bombed by Germans while at Piraeus harbor near the beginning of WWII and the existed banknotes were rescued by Greeks from the shipwreck, so the issue was cancelled and never circulated. WMK: Inonu. Printed by BWC. Inside holder by PMG "Choice About Unc 58". (Pick 133) & (Spink TCMB B11a).
