United States: Yehudi Menuhin 50th Birthday silver medal by Jewish medallist Paul Vincze, 1966; size: 56mm; weight: 97.05g. Obverse: Menuhin playing violin; Latin legend "YEHUDI MENVHIN ÆT. SVÆ. L" ('Yehudi Menuhin at the age of 50'), with date in Roman numbers; Vincze's name in exergue. Reverse: classical Roman images of teacher and pupil; Latin legend "CHI NON ARDE NON INCENDE" ('He who does not burn does not set alight'); Vincze's name in exergue. Menuhin (1916-1999) was a Jewish violinist and conductor, considered one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century. Vincze (1907-1994) was an acclaimed Jewish artist and medallist; JMM p.79.
