Pre-Long Beach Auction #841694 Robinson Copy of New England Elephant Token in Copper Kenny-5 W-15200 Rarity-6+ MS63. Frosty medium brown and light chocolate blending to deeper olive brown in protected areas. Peeps of faded mint red show in a couple of the protected areas. Sharply struck. A couple small spots near the end of the elephant's trunk are the only defects. Reportedly only 15 examples were struck in copper in the 1860's before the dies were destroyed. Weight 118.1 grains.  Lot 88 - united states liberty cap half cents - Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles, Inc. Pre-Long Beach Auction #841794 C-4b R6+ AG3. Large Edge Letters. A couple points sharper but fine to moderate granularity covers the fields and protected areas on both sides while the devices are smooth. No verdigris, but there is a dull dent at AM that has caused a subtle bulge in the field over the end of the pole. Recolored a partially glossy dark bluish steel and olive brown. LDS, Manley state 2.0, with a die clashmark nestled between the upper edge of the cap and the back of the head. The date is clear and the legends are easily readable in spite of the fine roughness. The Large Edge Letters are strong except for the T in TWO and the E in HUNDRED, which are weakened by edge bumps. Sharpness F12 but the left edge of the obverse has been flattened leaving that area rough and obliterating most of FUGIO. The date is strong and the remainder of the legends are clear. The surfaces are decent but not perfectly smooth showing microscopic roughness in protected areas. LDS with strong die clashmarks at the bottom of the reverse. Struck slightly off center to K-8 with the dies in medal orientation, head-to-head, rather than the usual head-to-foot relationship. A decent if imperfect example of this very rare variety.  Lot 34 - united states colonials - Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles, Inc. Pre-Long Beach Auction #841787 Connecticut Miller 37.14-cc.2 Rarity-6 VG8. Draped Bust Left. Sharpness at least F15 where the designs were properly struck up, but the right half of the obverse is covered with hairline scratches, there is a sharp nick on the chin, and traces of greenish verdigris show on the left side of the reverse. In addition a planchet lamination fissure extends horizontally across the obverse passing through the middle of the neck. Rather glossy medium brown and light chocolate. The date is weak but still readable with some effort. This piece was struck while it was barely overlapping another planchet, and an indent from that second planchet is clearly visible at the bottom of the obverse. While this piece is certainly not perfect, it is still superior to the Miller-Ford example of the variety. Only a very few better ones are known. Weight 132.4 grains.
